A MAN has been arrested over an assault which left another man's jaw broken in two.
Police confirmed this morning that a 22 year old man had been arrested in connection with the assault in Selby in the early hours of Sunday, March 30.
He has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
The victim, a 24-year-old local man, was allegedly attacked outside Barclays Bank at the junction of Gowthorpe and Finkle Street.
He was left with serious injuries to his face and spent three days in hospital, undergoing surgery to insert a metal plate and screws to hold his chin together, a police spokesman said.
