I would like to thank all who came to my assistance when I tripped and fell, hitting my face and head on pavement and railings, at the bus stop opposite Theatre Royal, on Wednesday afternoon.
A couple came to my immediate aid (Mr and Mrs Bowling of Haxby, who later telephoned to ask about my welfare), a second gentleman helped (a St John's Ambulance man), and a lady phoned for an ambulance, which arrived within minutes.
The crew were efficient and gentle, and the staff at A&E at the hospital were sympathetic and swift to administer treatment.
Luckily, nothing was broken. the only injury being my pride and nasty knocks and bumps which have resulted in a swollen nose and a black eye.
I am remaining indoors for a time. But I can still say a grateful thank you.
Anne Cooper, York Road, Haxby.
