SIMON Webbe was a member of Blue, while Matt Willis fronted the spunky pop trio Busted. Willis is undoubtedly one of his generation's most gifted songwriters.

Don't Let It Go To Waste is packed with potential hit singles and infused with spirit, energy and drive. Mostly high octane rockers such as Up All Night and Hey Kid, Willis crafts his songs with an athlete's agility, and delivers with a championship hook.

Undoubtedly influenced by the likes of Def Leppard and Alice Cooper at their mightiest, this is great stuff. It's just a shame that such a major talent has to resort to eating grubs and kangaroo's bits while roughing it in the jungle to merit prime time media coverage.

If Willis smells like teen spirit, then Simon Webbe has the sweet aroma of Parisian cologne. Sophisticated and lush, Webbe's second solo outing is gentle music for the soul.

Although missing a killer track, Webbe's Grace is a pleasant collection. However, you gain the impression there will be a Blue reunion before Willis feels the need to hook up with his old mates.
