A school choir in York raised £300 by holding a fundraising concert attended by family and friends.
Fifty pupils from Poppleton Road Primary School participated in the event at Poppleton Road Memorial Hall to raise money for their school, and were involved in choosing a number of the songs for the performance.
Teacher and choirmaster Katy Kelly said the children really enjoyed being on stage in front of an audience, and described their rendition of Keane’s Somewhere Only We Go as a “tear-jerker”.
She thanked school staff and the singers’ families for their support with the concert.
