YORK Lions Club has given two voluntary organisations cheques for £500 to help their move into a new home.
The Blind and Partially Sighted Society (YBPSS) and the Resource Centre for Deafened People will use the cash to help move from Holgate Villa to Rougier House.
The YBPSS centre at Holgate Villa closes today and, building works permitting, will reopen at Rougier House on Monday, February 17.
Anyone with sight difficulties can visit between 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday, to find out how the society can help them carry on doing everyday activities independently.
Diane Roworth, chief officer of YBPSS, said: “We are very grateful to York Lions.”
