ABOUT 300 local residents gathered on the lawn outside a York church to sing carols around a brazier.
The annual Carols On The Lawn event, with free mulled wine and mince pies, took place on Sunday at Christ Church on Stockton Lane.
The vicar, the Reverend Paul Deo, said the York Railway Institute band agreed play for the singers and the event enjoyed reasonable weather with just a spot or two of rain.
