Nigel Adams, the MP for Selby and Ainsty, welcomes a group of politics students from Queen Margaret’s School, Escrick, to Westminster, where he gave them a tour of the Houses of Parliament.
Following the tour, the group also took part in a question and answer session with the MP, and got the opportunity to listen to another North Yorkshire politician, Foreign Secretary William Hague, the MP for Richmond, answer questions.
Student Ellie Byass said: “It was captivating seeing the theory we have learned being put into action.”
Mr Adams said: “I was delighted to welcome the girls from Queen Margaret’s for a Tour of Parliament. It was a great opportunity for the students to gain an insight into the life of an MP and to discuss issues that impact on their daily lives as part of their politics lesson. I’m sure they enjoyed an excellent and informative visit.”
