Woodthorpe Wanderers were 3-0 winners at home to Thorpe United in round two of the York FA Acaster Steel Under-12s Junior Cup.

Wanderers scored three first-half goals playing against the wind through George Wilson (2) and Sam Robinson.

A dominant performance from Poppleton Tigers helped them to a 12-1 victory over York RI.

Luke Morris bagged six goals for Poppleton, who led 8-0 at the break, while Robert Guilfoyle got four and there was a goal apiece for Ryan Fairclough and Joe Brown.

Stamford Bridge were 4-0 winners at home to Aviva.

Aviva took the early initiative and were unlucky not to take the lead in the first ten minutes, but then Bridge started to dominate.

The hosts took the lead through Daniel Durkin after an assist from Adam Webster and they doubled their lead when Tom Hields finished from a ball into the box by William Dickson.

In second half, Stamford defended well, led by man of match Thomas Smith, and scored a third through James Patrick before forcing an own goal.

Tadcaster Magnets Blues were 1-0 winners at Haxby Town.

Henry Copley opened the scoring, tapping in a rebound and Manni De-Nobriga added a second before the break.

The second half was more one-sided, with pacy midfielder Mikey Banks scoring two good goals.

Miles Buckle and Lucas Frankish contributed spectacular long-range strikes and Henry Copley added three more goals to his tally. Man of the match De-Nobriga, a constant threat on the right wing, scored his second goal.

It was ten versus ten in the York FA U14s Intermediate (Junior) Minor Cup tie between Tadcaster Albion and Wilberfoss.

Wilberfoss emerged as 8-2 winners in a game between two sides depleted by half-term holidays.

’Foss led 3-2 at the break but stepped up a gear in the second half.
