THE BBC has unveiled a new presenter for its regional news in Yorkshire, replacing the programme’s former presenter Christa Ackroyd, whose contract was terminated earlier this year.
Amy Garcia has been announced as Look North’s new co-presenter, to work beside Harry Gration from November for the daily 6.30pm programme and some of the 1.30pm and 10.25pm bulletins.
Amy, originally from Wakefield, has been working on BBC South Today since 2012, and before that was a broadcast journalist at Look North.
The mother-of-one, who is currently on maternity leave with her first baby, will be moving back to Yorkshire with her family to start the new job on Monday, November 25.
Amy said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be returning to the North and can’t wait to share the sofa with the Yorkshire legend that is Harry Gration.”
