St Lawrence’s CE Primary School has won York’s Walk To School Week competition. The school won the tenth annual Jack Archer trophy and a £400 cash prize after every single pupil walked, scooted or cycled to school for a week earlier this month.
Copmanthorpe and Dringhouses primary schools came second and third respectively.
Copmanthorpe won £200 to spend on sports equipment, and Dringhouses received high-visability jackets for a class.
Dunnington Primary School are the new owners of a Scooter Pod after they won Scoot tT School Wednesday, which saw 55 per cent of pupils scoot to school.
St Lawrence’s Primary School came a close second with 52 per cent participation.
