JOE Goodsall struck seven times as Harrogate Town Under-19s slayed Strensall 21-0 in the first round of the F1 Racing York City & District FA Cup.

Hat-tricks from Joe Davison and Matt Brayshaw also helped Harrogate on their way with Dom Rodgers (2), Liam Moroney, Elliott Gracey, Adam Robinson, substitute Elliott Moore, Lewis Pey and Kern MacFarlane joining a crowded scoresheet.

Captain Rodgers claimed his first goals of the season in the victory with Gracey also opening his account with a header. Pye created that goal, finishing with six assists.

Leading marksman Davison, meanwhile, was replaced by goalkeeper/midfielder Liam Corbett after completing his treble in the 52nd minute and Goodsall’s individual haul included three goals in as many second-half minutes.

Elsewhere, a double-strike from Wigginton’s Pat Evans was enough to see off a determined Thorpe United side.

York RI beat Harrogate League side Helperby 6-4 with goals from Steven James (3), Brodie Doherty (2) and Ben Coates.

New side Tockwith had a 3-2 win at Copmanthorpe, where George Hardy, Will Deakin and Lewis Beecher netted.

In the Pavers Shoes U16s Senior Minor Cup first round, Matty Mulhearn fired a hat-trick to help Poppleton Tigers progress 7-0 at York Cubs.

The other marksmen were Ciaran Blondrage (2), Ed Barnes and Josh Nelson.

Woodthorpe Wanderers, meanwhile, beat neighbours York RI 5-1 in the U15s Intermediate (Senior) Minor Cup first round thanks to Liam Potter (2), Owen Gibson, Tom McCrory and James Smith.

In the corresponding U14s competition, Pocklington overcame Bishopthorpe through Celeb Condon (3), Tom Broadbent and Alex Silva-Duuant.

Penalties were required after Brayton and Fulford drew 1-1. Brayton won the shoot-out 5-3 and Keanan Crake (4) and Adam Hendry (3) led the rout as York Cubs beat Easingwold Town 13-3.

York RI’s Jon-Paul Turbine blew Tadcaster Albion away in the Pavers Shoes U13s Junior Minor Cup first round with a double hat-trick in his side’s 11-1 win. Josh Mitchell got Tadcaster’s consolation goal. Holders Popleton Tigers went through at the expense of Poppleton Panthers with Jack Atkinson (3), Jack Leeming (2) and Thomas Palmer on target.

Easingwold had a rousing 15-0 success at Copmanthorpe, Joe Wright notched four goals, while there were hat-tricks for both Joseph Adams and Tom Newton.

In the U12s’ Acaster Steel Junior Cup, Tadcaster Magnets Blues edged a nine-goal, first round thriller with Easingwold Town, while Pocklington Town Colts hit five at Tockwith as Josh Broadbent and Kai Birch both bagged braces and William Snook also found the target.

Poppleton Panthers defeated Tockwith 5-0 in the F1 Racing U11s Junior Cup first round after goals from Sheldon Scott (2), Jack Williams, Charlie Wright and Kier Brookes-Humphrey. Oliver Hanley and Ben Calam scored four apiece as Huntington put 13 past Stamford Bridge, who replied with two.

Hamilton Panthers beat York RI on penalties after Jacob Lamb and William McCrory had netted in a 2-2 draw. Jack Kelly and Marty Brown were RI’s scorers.

Pickering Town put 11 past Rawcliffe Raiders with Isaac Finch (2), Sam Jenkins (2), Morgan Kendew, Jack Cleary, Charlie Hancock, Noah Gittens, Ollie Stanton and Billy Feswter all on the scoresheet, while in the match-up between the two Easingwold teams, the Hawks beat Harriers 6-0 with Josh Gath netting four. Rawcliffe Tigers won 14-0 at Elm Park as Josh Hussain hit a hat-trick and Will Jarvis also managed a treble during Rufforth United’s 6-3 victory over Haxby Town.

York Cubs U11s travelled to Strensall for their second meeting in eight days, this time in the nine-a-side Junior FA Cup after an impressive 11-0 league win at home the previous Sunday.

Within ten minutes, Strensall were 1-0 up after having most of the possession.

After a two-man substitution five minutes later, Cubs levelled through Marco Brown-Camacro from a cross from the right by substitute and leading scorer Josh Hall.

Eight minutes later Brown-Camacro got his second goal, again from a Hall cross.

Just before half-time Hall scored to give the Cubs a 3-1 lead at half-time.

The second half started as the first had finished with Cubs on the attack.

Hall hit his second goal early in the half and then bagged two late strikes to complete a 6-1 conquest by the Cubs.
