GIFTS and thanks have been given to three dedicated hotel workers who, between them, have clocked up 90 years’ service.

Long-service awards have been presented to Dean Court Hotel staff Dawn Henderson, Christine Bedford and Cynthia Thompson.

Christine, who has been there 35 years, joined the business as a receptionist before progressing to be in charge of accounts and now working with HR. She is part of a quartet of senior managers.

Also with 35 years under her belt is Cynthia, who works in the main restaurant looking after the waiting staff, keeping the kitchens in order and washing up. Marking 20 years service is Dawn, who works in the cafe bistro The Court, previously known as Terry’s Tearoom.

David Brooks, the general manager of the Duncombe Place hotel, said: “The benefit of having long-standing members of staff is that they train the new staff, they have traditional values and each one of them does a fantastic job and is a credit to the business. Their experience is invaluable and they contribute to the hotel’s smooth running.’’
