The crowds came out in force to celebrate the 106th annual Farndale Show yesterday.
Considered by many to be one of North Yorkshire’s most scenic country shows, highlights included showjumping, falconry displays, photography and cake competitions and show favourites of cattle, horse, sheep and pig classes.
This year, the bright, warm weather proved to be a vast improvement on last year’s August Bank Holiday, which saw heavy rain throughout the afternoon.
Rachel Armstrong, landlady of the nearby Farndale Arms, said: “I’ve got a queue of people out the door, so there’s good attendance over at the show. It’s a lovely day for it too, and there are plenty of people about.”
Visitors were also able to buy locally-produced crafts at the event which was organised by the Farndale Agricultural, Horticultural and Industrial Society.
