TWO Leeds politicians have claimed a York political party’s comments about controversial plans for thousands of new homes were offensive to their city.
Leeds City Council leader Keith Wakefield and Leeds North East MP Fabian Hamilton said claims by York Outer MP Julian Sturdy and the city’s Conservative group that York could become a “suburb of Leeds” through new housebuilding disparaged the West Yorkshire city and both areas were working as economic partners.
