CHILDREN from six schools in the York area have helped break the record for the most people performing sign language simultaneously in different locations.
Charity SignHealth organises the sign2sing record breaker every year and in February 116,980 pupils and teachers from across Britain participated in the event.
Schools to take part in York were Applefields School in Bad Bargain Lane, Fishergate Primary School, Forest of Galtres Anglican Methodist Primary School in Shipton-by-Beningbrough, Green Hammerton Church of England (C of E) Primary School, Pocklington C of E Infant School on Maxwell Road and St Aelred’s Catholic Primary in Fifth Avenue.
In total the schools in York that took part in sign2sing raised more than £370 for SignHealth through charity donations.
