OUR Labour-controlled council remains adamant that congestion will be stopped and the only way to reduce congestion is to close 110 roads to all vehicles, then close Lendal Bridge.
Yet congestion is a myth and created by Coun Dave Merrett and co. Closing Lendal Bridge will create serious congestion across the city.
As about 1,200 people have voted against this, why does the council not listen to its citizens?
Reducing speed limits will also create more tailbacks. Coun Merrett does not drive a car; he only drives us mad.
