A WOMAN was robbed by two teenage girls in East Yorkshire.

The 61-year-old was on her way home in Goole when she was approached by the girls, who allegedly assaulted her and stole a pack of cigarettes and a tin of rollup cigarettes from her handbag, Humberside Police said.

The girls then headed along Weatherill Street. The roll-up cigarettes were in a tin with an image of a brown Corgi dog on the front.

The woman was not injured in the attack, but police want to speak to anyone with information, or who can identify the girls. The attack was at about 9.30pm on Tuesday.

One of the offenders is described as being in her late teens, about 5ft 7ins with short, straight brown coloured hair in a bob style. She was wearing black leggings. The other was of slim build with burgundy hair tied up in a pony tail. She was wearing a blue tracksuit.
