THIEVES have stolen a bag containing charity donations from a village near Selby.
The incident happened at about 7am on Monday, from outside a house in Chestnut Avenue, Hemingbrough.
Residents saw a man load the bag, which had been left out for the British Heart Foundation, into a plain white van, but notified the police after an official vehicle from the charity visited the area later that day.
North Yorkshire Police have urged anyone who saw the van or the suspect, described as white, in his 20s, slim, with short, dark hair and wearing a brown top, to contact them.
