POLICE and firefigthers rescued a man in distress in York city-centre, following a four-hour night-time search.
Officers were called at 11.10pm last night following reports that a man was threatening to harm himself. They searched the area around Scarborough Bridge and the River Ouse, with firefighters and found the man on Lendal Bridge at 3.10am today.
