PLANS have been submitted for dozens of new homes in a Selby village.
The outline application has been submitted to Selby District Council, with a view to create 37 new homes on agricultural land in York Road, Barlby.
Developers Daniel Gath Homes have submitted plans to the council which show potential for “a mix of resident units including two, three and four bedroom accommodation provided as terraces, semi-detached and detached units”, and a recreational open space in a central location.
Most attractive for the council though, will be the developers’ proposal that 40 per cent of the new houses would be offered to the authority as affordable housing.
The report said: “As it is recognised that this site is a greenfield development and it is unallocated for residential development at this time, the applicant can provide for 40 per cent of the proposed units as ‘affordable’. These units would be pepper-potted throughout the site and would be delivered through a variety of tenures.”
One local resident objected to the access plans for the site, which would be through The Laurels estate, as he felt it would create a danger to pedestrians.
