Bob Brook and Hazel Collett, volunteers at the Poppleton Community Railway Nursery, with some of the plants which went by train to Starbeck station to boost its chances in a village floral contest.
A team from Starbeck In Bloom approached the nursery for some green-fingered assistance in their efforts to make their area look its best, and six trays of supplies were ferried to the station near Harrogate.
The Poppleton charity is believed to be the last surviving railway nursery in the UK. It was originally set up next to Poppleton Station to grow vegetables during the Second World War.
Said Hazel: “Starbeck In Bloom approached us after seeing how we provided plants for Harrogate Station last year.”
The nursery will be open as part of the Poppleton Garden Trail on June 29 and 30 between 11am and 5pm.
