As part of National Falls Awareness Week, the York Falls Prevention Team is holding a Keeping Healthy morning for older people, carers and supporters.
The event is at Auden House, St Ann’s Court, off Cemetery Road in Fulford, from 10am to noon tomorrow.
An instructor will demonstrate simple exercises and there will be opportunities to have blood pressure and other health checks. Information, advice and refreshments will be offered and visitors can have their toe nails checked or cut.
Sally Hutchinson, chief officer of Age UK York, said: “This is an opportunity for everyone to learn about the simple things that older people can do to keep healthy and safe, improve their fitness and get advice on any more specific issues they may have.”
