A BLUEPRINT for the future of Pocklington – including future housing schemes – is to be sent to the region’s council bosses.
Town councillors have voted to adopt the “community-led plan” produced by the Pocklington Future voluntary group, and it will now be submitted to East Riding of Yorkshire Council for approval so it can be taken into account when future planning proposals in the area are discussed.
The plan has been developed with residents and local group, with one of the main concerns being extra housing, which the town council said must be “sympathetic” to the town, in the right locations and with affordable homes available. Other priorities include retaining free parking, improving infrastructure and job creation.
Information leaflets will be available at Pocklington Arts Centre on June 29 when Friends of Pocklington Arts Centre hold their monthly coffee morning from 10am. Members of Pocklington Future will also be there to discuss taking the plan forward. Details are also at pocklington.gov.uk.
