Selby Young Farmers will be supporting the Cancer Care Centre at York Hospital at their summer dance on Saturday.

The Australian-themed event will run from 7.30pm to 2.30am at Allotment Farm, Wistow Common.

Entertainment will include live band Styckleback, a DJ, barbecue, bar, cocktails and tombola.

Georgina Saxon, chairman of Selby Young Farmers, said: “Every year we donate a large amount of the proceeds to charity and this year we chose to have a ‘war on cancer’ after it is something which has affected many of the members’ friends and family.

“We wanted to choose local cancer charities to ensure that the money we raise will really help the local people we know and so chose the Cancer Care Centre at York Hospital as we know it helps so many people.”

All ages are welcome (ID may be required for over 18s) and tickets are £15, which includes a steak barbecue.
