I do enjoy reading Helen Mead’s columns. She is so down to earth and funny with it.
Her recent article about accompanying someone to A&E was spot-on, writing about similar situations experienced by most who visit the department.
Of course we all know what a wonderful job they all do looking after us – never mind the long wait. Angels, all of them.
The only statement I query is her finishing line: Remember – it is all FREE! Sorry, Helen, but I do not agree.
During our working life we all are paying for it with our National Insurance contributions and when the Government tops-up the system, again it is you, the taxpayer, who is footing the bill. Nothing in life is free – and certainly the NHS is not so.
