YORK property market intelligence business VizziHome has been sold to Zoopla Property Group for an undisclosed sum.

The company which is a large online database that collects non-personal data about properties being sold, or let, was set up in 2009 by Kevin Hollinrake, the owner of York estate agents Hunters, and an old school friend Jeremy Ward.

The business is used by property agents, as well as utility companies, which want to gauge their market share and see when customers are on the move.

Zoopla Property Group operates a similar market intelligence tool. It said that in the short term the VizziHome tool would continue to be operated as a standalone product, but over time it intended to integrate the product with its own tools, using the best of both products.

Kevin Hollinrake said: “VizziHome and ZPG’s MarketView have become must-use tools over the past few years for any agent serious about understanding their business performance and increasing their profits.

"The idea of combining these two products and offering a single unrivalled market intelligence tool backed by the investment and innovation of Zoopla Property Group is a powerful one.

"I have long-admired ZPG’s approach to the market and its members and am delighted to be joining forces with them in this endeavour.”
