YORK residents are asked to share their skills and get involved in running the city’s open spaces.

Workshops at City of York Council’s new Resident’s Forums and at parish council liaison meetings will ask people for their views on local open spaces and assess the appetite for more community involvement in managing and maintaining them.

Such schemes have been run at Bishophill Senior community garden, Chapman’s Pond in Dringhouses, Greenfields on Haxby Road, Danesmead Wood in Fishergate and Woodthorpe shops on Moorcroft Road.
