A YORKSHIRE engineering firm has been appointed to lead work on the £22 million revamp of an East Yorkshire town’s transport network.

The Beverley Integrated Transport Plan – including a new Southern Relief Road – was given Government approval last month, with work due to start this summer and be completed in early 2015.

Tadcaster-based Birse Civils has been confirmed as the main contractor by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, whose leader Coun Stephen Parnaby said the appointment was “another significant milestone passed”.
