WITH regards to the old Terry's site (2,800 jobs hang in the balance, The Press, November 21), while job creation is to be encouraged, especially after the spate of job losses recently announced in the city, I cannot help but feel a little concerned that all the replacement jobs proposed seem to be at the lower end of the skills market and, therefore, poorly paid.

Surely, to encourage prosperity into the city, planners should be looking to stimulate development which pays wages closer to the national average?
