IN these days of so much negative news of the NHS, I really feel I should relate my own experience of the past week.
Last Thursday, I had to dial 999 as my wife had severe chest pains.
From the woman who took the call, to the ambulance crew, staff in the Accident & Emergency department, the coronary care unit and eventually up to ward 38, both my wife and myself were dealt with by the most professional, dedicated and friendly NHS staff from consultants to cleaners.
We could not have wished for a better service.
I would just like your readers to be reassured that the NHS is there when you really need it.
Ian Richardson, Aspen Way, Slingsby.
