Shakira finds motherhood "deliciously overwhelming".

The 36-year-old singer and her Barcelona soccer player boyfriend Gerard Pique welcomed their first child, son Milan Pique Mebarak, into the world in January, and the musician is so smitten with her baby she can't stand being apart from him.

Earlier this month Shakira decided to bring Milan with her while filming 'The Voice' USA, where she snapped a photo of them sat on the big red chair and shared it with her followers on Twitter.

Speaking about the adorable photo on the 'Today' show, Shakira gushed: "Being a mother is deliciously overwhelming. It's surreal. It's a whole new experience to me, and I'm just discovering it second by second.

"And having him here, it's great, it's a new thing, it's another part of me and my loved one. He's accompanying me so I don't feel alone."

Shakira joined her fellow 'Voice' judges - Usher, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton - on the chat show and discussed the antics on set.

While she enjoys the "hard work" put into the wannabe singers, the 'Gypsy' hitmaker admitted she feels "guilty" when she dropping acts from the Battle Rounds after putting so much time and effort into helping them progress.

She added: "You have the opportunity to watch the results of all the hard work and to see how much progress your artists have made, or not made. But at the same time you have to let one of them go and it's sad. Sometimes, the guilt is overwhelming."
