Selby pub team’s Lion’s share
A NORTH Yorkshire hostelry raised £212 in sponsorship in the annual Selby Lions pub quiz.
Quiz buffs at the Kellington Manor Hotel won the trophy for raising the biggest amount of cash. Although the hotel team has never won the quiz, it has won the sponsorship award on five occasions having raised a total of nearly £1,000.
Selby Lions president Dave Clarke said: “We appreciate all the cash that is raised at this popular event which funds our annual senior citizens concert and supper.”
Mr Clarke and Selby Lion David Jones are pictured presenting the award to Sue Papworth, the hotel’s joint owner.
