Volunteers at a York health club are warming up for a Spinathon in aid of St Leonard’s Hospice.
Participants can spin for the entire six-hour event on May 19 at Roko Health Club, Clifton Moor, or only an hour or two, and are encouraged to gain sponsorship.
Organiser Tom Perkins, who intends to spin for the duration, said: “Deena Joyce, one of the personal trainers at Roko, suggested the Spinathon, and I took up the idea so we can raise funds for St Leonard’s.”
Sarah Atkinson, community fundraiser at the hospice, said: “It’s a great way to raise funds for the hospice’s work. We are very grateful to Deena and Tom, and to everyone who takes part.”
There will also be a raffle on the day, with prizes donated by local companies.
To sign up for the Spinathon, which is open to all, phone 01904 699740
