DEPRESSION is commonplace. Not just among celebrities such as David Blunkett and Stephen Fry.
I notice it among older men; especially those who come on phone-ins. And are, frankly, often treated with scant respect and simplicity.
Depression is difficult to diagnose even for doctors. It is an oft-hidden misery.
Stephen Fry said "shopping binges" helped his depression. Is that why so many women are shopaholics.
Why are so many people in our society unhappy? Is it money, mortgages, debt, fierce competition, quick-changing partnerships. Or obsession with sex and booze?
Any advance on that little lot?
