A COUPLE of weeks ago, The Press had a feature about the threatened closure of the Disability Information and Advice Centre in York, due to funding from the North Yorkshire and York Primary Care Trust (PCT) being withdrawn from April next year (End of the line, October 27).
We have over the past year or so asked for advice and help from the centre. Wendy Girling, a member of staff, has visited our house on a number of occasions. She has helped us fill forms in and given us advice.
We and many other people in the York area will miss this worthwhile organisation. I hope the PCT can reconsider its decision or funding from another source can be found.
Helen and John Rathmell, Melton Avenue, York.
