YOUNGSTERS at a York secondary school got a taste of military life when the Coldstream Guards dropped in at Manor School, off Boroughbridge Road, as part of a tour of the region.
They have also organised on-the-street recruiting, open days and nurturing evenings for anyone interested in an Army career Drill Sergeant Andy Johnson, organiser of the Coldstream Guards tour, said: "The regiment is very pleased to be returning to Yorkshire after tours in Iraq.
"We have always recruited from Yorkshire; it is our biggest recruiting area."
