Pupils at a York school leapt into action to raise funds for the new British Heart Foundation (BHF) York Branch.
More 230 youngsters at Archbishop of York’s CE Junior School, in Bishopthorpe, raised £129 at a sponsored skipathon as part of the Jump Rope For Heart programme.
Head teacher Jonathan Green said: “The Jump Rope For Heart scheme helps us encourage healthy habits, while creating a more active ethos in school. Taking part has given our pupils a reason to get moving, not to mention having lots of fun.”
Murray Halliday, BHF schools and youth volunteer and BHF York branch member, said: “A heartfelt thank you to the pupils and staff at Archbishop of York’s Junior School. Their efforts will help us continue with our life-saving work.
