YOU could barely move in York at the weekend - and business and tourism bosses couldn't be better pleased.
One store said it had been "run ragged" by the rush. So Scrooges beware, it appears that Christmas has come early. Never mind all the stories about everyone shopping on the internet these days, York is still popular enough to pull in the shoppers.
All this happened a week before the four-day St Nicholas Fayre. When that starts, the shops will be run even more ragged.
