I FULLY agree with Stephan Reynolds (Too Much Noise).
I suffer sensitive hearing brought on by an operation and I can’t go into pubs if there is a band playing.
Most theatres have the volume too high. I am pleased to say the Joseph Rowntree Theatre and the Grand Opera House still use their sense.
As far as cinemas are concerned, Reel seem to use its sense but whenever ambulances pass you it is like a bullet going to your head.
What annoys me is the loudspeaker at the train station. Why can’t they have quiet zones in stations like York. I am told you can hear it up at Holgate Bridge.
I, and the majority of people, don’t want all this noise. My opposition is based on medical grounds but there must be many like me.
