What turgid dross this year’s Six Nations rugby union competition was.
Referees blowing their whistles at every slight infringement with no thought of trying to make any sort of game for the paying and viewing public to enjoy.
Where was the ambition of the players to try and score tries? A kick-fest is not rugby as I know it.
Thank heavens that the “greatest game”, rugby league, continues to give spectacular entertainment for lovers of the handling code.
There is now so much aimless kicking in union that they should now seek affiliation to the Football Association.
