TOWTON Battlefield Society’s Palm Sunday commemoration of the Battle of Towton tomorrow has been cancelled due to a waterlogged field and adverse weather conditions.
A spokesman for the society said the decision to cancel the flagship event had not been taken lightly, but of paramount concern was the safety of visitors and participants, and of the archaeologically sensitive site.
