POCKLINGTON Predators kept up the pressure on York Minor Football League under-15s division one leaders Poppleton Tigers with a 4-1 win over Bishopthorpe White Rose.

Pocklington’s home win keeps them three points behind Poppleton, who were 3-1 victors at Fulford.

The Predators took the lead when Ed Borrie turned his defender and found the net after Huw Jones’ shot had been saved.

Sez Altin’s corner was then flicked in by Danny Shaw for the second.

White Rose pulled a goal back just before half-time with a powerful shot that was just out of reach for ’keeper Alex Varley.

George Pilkington laid on a goal for Shaw and he went on to complete his hat-trick with a second attempt after his initial effort was kept out.
