A NEW strategy for tackling hate crime in York is set to be agreed by city leaders next month.
The city’s first plan for dealing with the issue was launched in 2008 and City of York Council’s cabinet has been advised to approve a “refreshed” version which will look at under-reporting of hate crime and how this can be addressed, as well as raising awareness and improving support and the data available.
The strategy has been devised following talks between the council and more than 30 other organisations and communities.
