Regarding your reader’s letter (March 19), at least the package and card sent through the post did arrive, even though a little late.
On May 17, 2012, I posted a golden wedding card to my wife from Poppleton Post Office to an address in Poppleton. By Tuesday, March 19, this card had still not arrived.
When I eventually got through to customer services at the Post Office, I was asked if I was still living with my wife, and if so, why I did I not deliver the card by hand. Very sensible thinking by the advisor, after 50 years of marriage.
I was later informed that the card was now officially lost in the system.
