A GIANT book sale was launched at York’s main library today to clear space for new titles.
The sale is taking place at York Explore, in Museum Street, between 9am and 6pm, from 9am to 5pm tomorrow and Monday, and from 11am to 4pm on Sunday.
New books will be added each day and money raised will be reinvested in the city’s library service.
Coun Sonja Crisp, City of York Council’s cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism, said: “To make room for the constant stream of new books, more than 3,000 books, DVDs and CDs will be available, and residents will be able to come along and choose something to buy and keep.”
CDs will be available from 5p and DVDs will be on sale for as little as £1.
