MORE than a hundred generous supporters of our Guardian Angels appeal turned out for a unique fundraising event.
The Tap And Spile, in Monkgate, York, held a special event to raise money for the Angel Aid appeal last night.
Organiser Jack Merry said: "It's been a total sell out. We've had to turn at least 25 people away.
"But we're delighted that the night has proved to be such a huge success."
While revellers enjoyed music from top York rockers Stealer, they further contributed to the fundraising efforts by supping plenty of pints of unique "Guardian Angel" ale, brewed especially for the event by renowned Knaresborough-based brewery Roosters.
Generous landlady Mel Merry agreed to donate a percentage of cash from every pint of the bitter sold to our appeal.
