PUPPETS, puzzles, games and kites - those were just some of the goodies on offer at York's first Children's Christmas Fayre.
Hundreds of shoppers made the most of the chance to buy both unusual and traditional gifts for their children from the colourful stalls in Parliament Street at the weekend.
Nine-year-old Jaqui Dunning-Crane, of Acomb, York, had a great time playing with the puppets of the Deb Darling Designs stand, and Shaun Sewell drew in the crowds by dressing up as Dumbledore to sell Harry Potter cutlery from his stand.
Shopper Jennie Cauldwell, of Beverley, said: "I think the market is a wonderful idea.
"I've bought a few things already and have lots more ideas - but I can't tell you what they area because I want them all to be a surprise when they are unwrapped on Christmas Day!"
Each of the generous stallholders from the Children's Christmas Fayre has shown their own Christmas spirit by donating goods to the children's ward at York Hospital.
