Zoe Eagles’ impressive season continued with a display of déja vu on her British Isles debut.

The York Indoor Bowling Club ace repeated her feat of going unbeaten in the England Under-25s International Series by doing the same in her three matches in the full England team on her debut in the British Isles Series played at Stanley IBC.

Eagles was selected as lead in Sandy Hazell’s rink and her first game was against Wales.

England came from 15-10 down with four ends to play to win 24-16 with England’s rinks winning 136-95 overall.

The second game was against Ireland and Eagles led a team who took the lead on the first end and kept it throughout only losing eight ends and finishing 24-8 victors. The extra bonus was England taking the aggregate score by 158-85.

The final game pitted England against Scotland, who had also beaten Wales and Ireland in their previous two fixtures.

Eagles’ team got off to a good start leading 6-1 but, within the space of three ends, they trailed 9-6.

The lead swapped hands three more times and saw England trailing 18-17 with two ends to play.

However, a two, followed by a single, ensured that the Eagles’ rink inched home 20-18 victors.

England then cemented the capture of the crown by posting an overall emphatic 137-76 triumph over the Scots.
