A POST-MORTEM examination has found no obvious natural causes for the death of a studio assistant to the artist David Hockney.

Dominic Elliott, 23, died after being taken from the painter’s Bridlington home to Scarborough General Hospital, where he died on Sunday.

Humberside Police has said further tests will now be carried out, the results of which will not be known for some weeks.

Mr Elliott’s family has been fully updated by Humberside Police, a spokesman said.

Officers are also making inquiries into what happened before Mr Elliott arrived at hospital – including talking to friends, family, neighbours, colleagues and associates, a police spokesman said.
