IT is hoped that the City of York Council fulfils its duty in making the city-centre footstreets safe for all pedestrians by clearing the unsightly advertising boards that clutter the city streets.
Those obstacles are dangerous, especially when the streets are busy with shoppers.
Hanging signs are the appropriate way to advertise, pavement are for safe walking, not blatant advertising.
